Consider CO2 neutral biofuels like Biomethane & E12-E85 in the Green policy.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

UK Trucks run on Biomethane now so why not cars & vans?
Pass law allowing other fuels such as CO2 neutral/negative Biomethane to be used in cars/vans after 2030 as EVs are heavy, expensive & chargers for 40m+ cars in every street is unrealistic. There should be fuel competition not a monopoly!
Making EVs CO2
Grid not CO2 neutral
EVs slow charge/low range
Fast charge lower battery life & fires
EV tyres wear faster more tyre dust/road damage
Charge cables ran into streets/paths
Street chargers vandalised/fought over
EVs silent - more accidents
EV hacking
Biofuels use current infrastructure
Rebuilt engine cheaper than replacing batteries
Kids mine Cobalt in the Congo
EVs sterile & unexciting Biofuels to save UK motorsport jobs
Biodiversity
Biofuel from waste lowers CO2 & other pollution

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. We could accept a petition calling for the Government to exclude biofuel from the proposed 2030 ban on new diesel and petrol cars.
