LET ALL STUDENTS OF SUMMER 2020 EXAMS APPEAL TO RECEIVE TEACHER ASSESSED GRADES

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

BEFORE THE OFQUAL ALGORITHM WAS SCRAPPED SOME SCHOOLS MODERATED DOWN THEIR STUDENTS' TEACHER ASSESSED GRADES DOING THE WORK OF THE ALGORITHM FOR IT. THESE STUDENTS STILL HAVE ALGORITHMIC RESULTS AND THERE IS NO ROUTE OF APPEAL AS OFQUAL PREPARED THE APPEAL ON THE BASIS OF THE ALGORITHM IN PROCESS.
STUDENTS HAVE LOST PLACES AT PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITIES AND HAD OPPORTUNITIES LIMITED OR REMOVED WHERE OTHER STUDENTS HAVE NOT. THERE NEEDS TO BE EVEN GROUND FOR STUDENTS OF SUMMER 2020 EXAMS WHERE THEY ARE ALL GIVEN RESULTS BASED ON THEIR TEACHERS' ORIGINAL GRADES AND NOT SOME MODERATED DOWN DUE TO THE NOW DEFUNCT ALGORITHMIC MODEL. BEING GRADES IN THIS WAY HAS LEFT A DEVASTATING IMPACT ON SOME STUDENTS SIMPLY AS THEIR SCHOOL WAS DOING THE WORK OF THE ALGORITHM FOR IT. CHANGE THE APPEALS PROCESS.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Final grades were not set by algorithm. Decisions by individual schools on their assessed grades are a matter for individual schools and teachers.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
