Extend the current Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme and ditch the 21-23 scheme

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

The new Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme price cap is so low for all regions outside of London. The majority of young families have been trying hard to save for years with a house price target in mind. Now the government have created a new price cap creating a shift in what houses are affordable.
The price cap in all regions outside of London are too low. New build house prices are expensive for 3+ bedrooms. A lot of young families who have have more than 1 child will not be able to live in the smaller houses that are within the price cap. The government should seriously look at how feasible this is before it creates more poverty in regions outside of London. The price cap needs to be increased in those regions. A lot of new build development prices in the NW for example start at £238k.
