Make the speed limits for HGV's in Scotland the same as England and Wales.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The speed limit for HGV's in England and Wales was raised years a go but still Scotland haven't raised theirs. Surely it's about time this was sorted and raised from 40mph to 50mph on single carriageways and from 50mph to 60mph on dual carriageways.
HGV's have a lot of up to date safety features and driver aids. Also the drivers pass a lot of tests and do a lot of training to he able to drive a HGV. They are probably the safest drivers out there.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The power to set the speed limit on roads in Scotland is devolved to the Scottish Parliament.
