Allow ice rinks to remain open under Tier 3 of the regional lockdown system

What the petition asks
We ask that the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport recognise ice rinks as sporting or leisure facilities, not "event venues", thus allowing them to remain open under Tier 3 of the regional lockdown system and enabling organised ice sport to continue.
An estimated 54% of rinks nationwide would close under the proposed tier system, serving a devastating blow to athletes, rink staff, and wider communities.
The current categorisation groups ice rinks with bingo halls and casinos, rather than gyms and swimming pools, which does not realistically reflect their function. Ice rinks primarily host organised sports, such as ice hockey and figure skating. The proposed system threatens to treat ice sports unequally to the detriment of public health.
