Permanently limit the foreign aid budget to no more than 0.1% of national income

What the petition asks
The UK government has a budget for aid to overseas countries. We want the government to permanently reduce this budget to no more than 0.1% of gross national income, which is considerably less than the current amount.
Many people living in other countries face conflict, extreme poverty, unstable climates and so greatly benefit from foreign aid. Currently it is enshrined in law for the UK to contribute 0.7% of national income to foreign aid, although a temporary reduction to 0.5% was recently announced.
Individuals wishing to see more money sent overseas can donate their personal money to a charity of their choice.
