Reject ruling of rough sleeping as grounds for deportation of non UK nationals.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

We ask the government to review and reject this decision as it is an immoral infringement on the rights of those who are already vulnerable.
On 01/12/2020 it was ruled that rough sleeping can be deemed reasonable grounds to deport non UK nationals regardless of whether or not they are legally seeking refuge in the UK. A large majority of those who are going to be affected by this, are refugees fleeing from modern day slavery, persecution and trafficking.

In the words of Warsan Shire, “no one chooses refugee camps or strip searches where your
body is left aching, no one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark”.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition calling for the same action: Revoke rules for refusing or cancelling permission to stay for rough sleepers
