Expedite the Covid-19 vaccination of terminally ill patients

Closed 149 signatures

What the petition asks

To prioritise vaccinating terminally ill patients as soon as possible on humanitarian grounds.
End-of-life care for thousands of people could be improved if we expedite immunisation. Due to Covid restrictions, they’re denied emotional and logistical support as they approach the end of their lives.

The JCVI recognises that there may be ‘unintended consequences of targeting specific people’, suggesting vulnerable groups could be accidentally overlooked. They say the ‘lack of data about the impact of Covid for those who have been shielding is likely to underestimate the risk in this group’.
