Preserve diverse and mature woodlands in view of climate change.

What the petition asks
To review policies concerning 'woodland management', in particular the PAWs restoration document in view of the effects of climate change.
The large scale removal of mature native and established none-native tree species from our mixed woodlands is not sustainable. Woodland regeneration is slow and uncertain. Mature trees including conifer varieties have become established and play a vital role in the formation of twenty first century woodlands. I would ask the government to further protect existing woodlands in all their diversity for the benefit of people and wildlife.
