Petition · past parliament

A Government funded app to show available land for the planting of trees.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

A STEP TOWARDS CARBON NEUTRALITY! To show available areas all around the country for Tree Planting. To show simple steps of how to grow a tree from the seed to encourage people to grow their own and plant it! This scheme could also be implemented in schools as part of a Life’s Skills Curriculum.
The reason tree planting is important is to tackle climate change and aid in the UK’s target to carbon neutrality by 2050

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want to support the planting of trees, but whether or not land is available for the planting of trees would be a matter for the landowner, and this may be a private individual or business, rather than a local authority.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Enshrine tree planting target in law: Enshrine tree planting target in law

Establish a national tree-planting scheme for graduating students: Establish a national tree-planting scheme for graduating students

Create a programme to plant a tree for every baby born in England: Create a programme to plant a tree for every baby born in England

If you want the Government to take an action not covered by the above you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
