Reinstatement of the Retail, hospitality and Leisure & small business grants.

What the petition asks
The Government need to act and offer a lifeline to the Retail, hospitality and leisure sector and also small businesses by means of reintroducing the associated grants given at the beginning of the pandemic.
Thousands of businesses within the retail, hospitality and leisure sector including the events industry are now close to collapse as a consequence of the subsequent local and national measures that continue to prevent trade. If the reinststement of grants are not reintroduced within weeks, tens of thousands of families will be affected by the prospect of mass redundancy. We desperately need the Government and Treasury to protect these sectors and offer a financial lifeline. Please support us.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Since you started this petition, the Treasury has announced further grants to businesses in these sectors. You can read the full announcement here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/46-billion-in-new-lockdown-grants-to-support-businesses-and-protect-jobs
