Make education on sexual assault and rape mandatory in secondary schools

What the petition asks

Teach children as young as Year Seven in school about sexual assault and what to do if you have been sexually assaulted - and how to know if you have been assaulted. This should be a mandatory topic in our curriculum

Many men and women, myself included, have been at a loss on what to do and what support we can get after suffering sexual assault. Everything that I learned about the matter was online, and that should change. If we educate students on what to do if you have been assaulted and what support is available, then victims (especially younger victims) will feel far more inclined to speak out.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Consent and sexual assault are already part of the new curriculum on relationships and sex education, which is now mandatory. You can find out more here:
