What the petition asks

Keep the hair and beauty industry open. The reason for this is that the safety measures in place in salons is to wear both face masks and visors. Clients also wear masks for their entire visit. The hair and beauty industry has always been hygienic due to the strict prevention of cross-contamination.

Mental health has never been more important, with many people struggling with lockdown and the uncertainty of daily life. People having the opportunity to take time for themselves, be cared for and be listened to at the hairdressers can make an enormous difference to people’s well-being. Being able to switch off or have some company, even for the duration of a haircut, can play an essential role in a person’s mental health.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
