Exemptions in the EU deal for Hauliers transporting Music and Events equipment
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
EU to introduce exemptions allowing UK event hauliers to Continue providing transport for Music and Event equipment. Exempting them from cabotage rules (only being able to make two stops), having to return the drivers to the UK early and from cross trade rules providing the equipment is on carnet
It is essential to the UK events industry and their UK suppliers to be able to move their equipment freely, using the specialist hauliers and drivers, without hindrance. The EU always puts great emphasis on cultural activities so we ask they help us protect and promote our own culture.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions about things the UK Government or House of Commons is directly responsible for your.
Your petition requests that the EU introduces certain rules for particular hauliers, but this would be up to the EU.
We could accept a petition calling on the UK Government to seek to agree exemptions from rules regarding cabotage for hauliers transporting Music and Events equipment.
