Restart the school term for 2020

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

To restart the term for all schools from september.
How are our children meant to site exams this year when they have only had half a year of teaching. Remote learning as been appalling and you cannot expect children to pass exams on these basis. Resit the term, its not really going to have an impact on year 1 students. The majority of parents woukd be quite happy for there children to stay in school an extra year considering the circumstancs

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on school students, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It's not clear if you want the 2020/21 academic year to restart now, or if you want the 2020/21 academic year to be restarted this September.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Allow more school pupils to repeat an academic year due to COVID-19 lockdown: Allow more school pupils to repeat an academic year due to COVID-19 lockdown.

If you want the Government to take an action different to the above petition you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
