Extend EU Settlement Scheme for those affected by Covid-19
Closed
394 signatures
What the petition asks
To apply for the EU Settlement Scheme citizens must usually have started living in the UK by 31 December 2020. However, unforeseen issues linked to Covid such as the travel ban on arrivals from South Africa prevented EU citizens from entering the UK, meaning they are ineligible for this scheme.
The Government should extend the date by which EU citizens must have started living in the UK in order to be eligible for this scheme, and also extend the deadline for applying, so that EU citizens affected by Covid-19 restrictions are not prevented from accessing this scheme.
