Give NRP rights access further education attendance records if not next of kin.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Non resident parents need confirmation of attendance in order to verify pay to cms. This information is not required for the RP to claim cms and child benefit. If NRP query this they are expected to supply evidence but how can they if no access to attendance.
Fairness and equality to the non resident parent. Resident parents don't have to supply evidence yet NRP have to supply everything.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

Parents are already entitled to request access to, or a copy of, their child’s educational record, until the child reaches the age of 18, although over the age of 13 children and young adults can assume control over their personal information and restrict access to it: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dealing-with-issues-relating-to-parental-responsibility/understanding-and-dealing-with-issues-relating-to-parental-responsibility#information-sharing

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
