Improve services and treatment for babies with allergies and reflux problems

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

I’d like more support for babies struggling with allergies and reflux. Too many parents are being ignored when asking for help and are not being given correct prescriptions to deal with the issues due to cost, meanwhile babies are suffering.
So many babies are suffering as a result of poor treatment. Parents are being ignored and fobbed off by GP’s, given prescriptions for medications to mask the problems which in turn is doing damage to babies bodies. As adults, we wouldn’t eat something we are allergic to, yet babies keep being refused allergy formulas due to cost and parents are told it’s just “colic”. This is also extremely difficult on parents mental health and they are left with nowhere to turn.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about medical treatment is a matter for individual clinicians, not the Government or House of Commons.

If you are concerned about the treatment being offered by a GP you can find out how to complain here: https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/about-the-nhs/how-to-complain-to-the-nhs/

We could accept a petition calling for the Government to provide additional funding for treatment of babies with allergies and reflux issues, if that is what you want to happen.
