Nurses to work without having to pay an annual registration £120 fee to the NMC

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Nurses to work without having to pay an annual registration £120 fee to the NMC
I'm asking the government to support nurses not having to pay an annual registration fee to the NMC which is very costly . Nurses should be able to register without having to pay any fees .
It is unfair that nurses have to pay towards training etc. police officers and firefighters for example do not have to.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.

Whether to charge registration fees is an operational matter for independent bodies including the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and not the Government or Parliament.

We have published a petition calling on the Government to reimburse NHS nurses for professional registration fees, which you might like to sign:
Reimburse all NHS nurses for their annual registration fees
