Allow university students to be released from their housing contracts
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
University students should be allowed to cancel their accommodation contracts without any repercussions due to the pandemic forcing them to learn online. Especially if they feel unsafe returning to campus after the recent lockdown.
The government should ensure that accommodation services will not take legal action against students if the students feel as though their lives are being put at risk. No fees should be paid for somewhere students are not allowed to live in after deciding they do not want stay in university accommodation.
