Increase funding for mental health crisis patient aftercare

Closed 46 signatures

What the petition asks

More aftercare support including regular follow up phone calls, free texts of helplines available and reassurance of an appointment.
Mind found that 1 in 10 people don't get follow ups.
In a survey, they found that those who weren’t followed up appropriately were twice as likely to attempt suicide.

Around 110,000 people end up in hospital with a mental health crisis each year.
Support needs to be available right away, not just promised with no guarantee of when the help will be provided. Too many people aren't getting this.
No-one should be left feeling alone after been discharged from hospital with mental health, this can result in suicide which is devastating for everyone involved.
