support university students

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

University students currently in all years of a degree have been affected by lower standards of tuition & lost a lot of contact hours. Universities should be required to make up all lost contact hours or offer a 4th year to cover lost hours at no cost to the students (who have already paid for it)
students (particularly on practical courses) have not received what they have paid for, a few online lectures does not make up of hundreds of hours of lost physical practical tuition and coaching. This means they have missed out on a lot of promised and expected parts of their courses. Provision should be in place to make up all these hours as there is no suitable alternative available that provides anywhere near an equivalent.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.

It would be up to individual universities to decide whether they want to offer students additional teaching and/or the option to repeat a year of study to make up for lost contact hours.
