What the petition asks
Private accommodations such as Unite Students need to reduce rent by offering rebates or returning the money due to students being unable to stay in December or return because of the 2021 lockdown until mid-February due to the ongoing pandemic.
University owned accommodations across the country have reduced rent by offering rebates in December when students were forced to return home due to the ongoing pandemic or are returning the money at the end of the year due to students being unable to return because of the 2021 lockdown until mid-February. All students should be treat the same, and be offered the same refunds or rebates.
Many students have also had no access to communal areas that they have paid for, like common rooms or gyms.
