Angling is a solitary sport with proven health benefits, especially for people with PTSD and any other type of mental illness.
SAD seasonal affective disorder is already rife during winter and not allowing this freedom to be outdoors is detrimental to the health of many.

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Under the national lockdown effective from January 6th, angling and fishing are still permitted activities, as long as wider guidance on social distancing and household mixing is adhered to. See Sport England's website for more information:
