What the petition asks
Allow fishing to continue through lockdown with correct safety measures in place this sport is outdoors and is easy to maintain correct social distancing therefore doesn’t pose a risk to the spread of the virus
There are very few things you can do through lockdown and people’s mental heath and wellbeing are severely affected as not everyone can excersise therefore are confined to their houses. Fishing is an outdoor sport and it is Possible to maintain social distancing measures whilst being out in the Fresh air. This can be undertaken by all able body individuals and disabled therefore it would be a huge benefit for it to be allowed to continue

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Under the national lockdown effective from January 6th, angling and fishing are still permitted activities, as long as wider guidance on social distancing and household mixing is adhered to. See Sport England's website for more information:
