What the petition asks
To avoid a Negative impact on the education of a generation of children who have missed significant portions of 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 academic years due to COVID and National Lockdowns - an extension of compulsory education by 1 academic year to ensure children are not disadvantaged in the future
School closures, self isolation and Homeschooling have all had a detrimental impact on our children’s education which will negatively impact their future prospects.
We need to do this for the future of our children and our country.
Education is vital for the next generation and having already missed at least 3 months education and now the prospect of more missed education means they will struggle to catch up in what little time will be left of the academic year.
