What the petition asks
The Government should increase taxes on fireworks, and use proceeds to fund veterinary fees for pets, livestock and wildlife that are directly affected by fireworks, and provide counselling for children and adults who are affected by fireworks noise.
Many pet, livestock owners, wildlife carers, forces veterans, children with special needs, OAP's, Parents of young children, people with special needs and others who hates loud noises want to have tighter restrictions.
The noise caused by fireworks can disrupt sleep and can cause distress and even death to animals. Ex-service men and woman who suffer from PTSD can also be adversely affected by the noise made by fireworks, and many OAPs are also scared of them.
We are all affected by this one way or another and would like something done sooner rather than later.
