What the petition asks
For the hard work and long hours teachers put into their jobs, Teachers and teaching staff should have a 'Teacher Discount' similar to the NHS Discount, by recieving a card that allows them to enjoy discounts similar to NHS staff.
Teachers work long hours, are dedicated to their jobs and especially during this pandemic, have been on the front line of it all. Teachers have played a major role in shaping lives. Teachers should be rewarded and made to feel appreciated for all their efforts.
Rewarding teachers with 'Teacher discount cards' will not only financially help teachers, but will make teachers feel recognised and appreciated for all that they do for the younger generation, similar to what NHS staff receive.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Offering discounts to particular people is a matter for individual businesses, not the Government or House of Commons.
