Reduce rent by 50% and allow early release for those in student accommodation

What the petition asks
Do what's right and support us students during these trying times by reducing rent to an affordable amount, and allow early release.
Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the world, leaving many unemployed, and leaving students in the dust. University students haven't had any support whatsoever from the money hungry government. University students are expected to pay full price for an accommodation most of them aren't using. This is unfair, unjust, and inhumane to expect us to pay thousands, putting ourselves in debt for something we don't need anymore. We are fully within our rights to request this.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
Suspending payments for rent or ending a tenancy early is a matter for individual landlords, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
