What the petition asks
This payment would show our appreciation to people who have shown tremendous dedication.
At a time of national crisis, it is right that the people of the UK convert their praise of NHS staff into a more tangible form of appreciation.

As well as being of practical benefit, this payment would also boost the morale of NHS staff at a time when many of them have been placed under prolonged pressure and unprecedented levels of stress.
We are going to defeat Coronavirus if the nation truly comes together with a clear sense of common purpose. And now - more than at anytime since the NHS was created – it is the right time for us all to reward and properly thank those who have been prepared to put themselves in harms way in a manner that goes beyond the tokenism of simply expressing out thanks through a weekly clap.
