Award NHS staff fighting Covid with a specially commissioned medal.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Clapping for the NHS does not go nearly far enough in recognising the efforts akin to those who have fought in armed conflict to protect our Nation . Their sacrifice must be honoured with a specially commissioned medal to honour their efforts in fighting Covid.
As a spouse and friend to many who work in the NHS I know that they do not go into this profession for monetary reward. They do so for their passion to deliver care to those in need. Nationally recognising their sacrifice to keep us safe by specially commissioning a medal (Nightingale medal?) to honour their efforts I am sure would enable us to more readily convey our heartfelt thanks.
