Increase pay for NHS staff, social care workers & teachers.

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

Key worker pay reform is needed now. Some NHS staff have had recent pay reforms, but the government needs to expedite and increase pay reforms for other staff groups. The government must also fully review and increase the pay of those working in schools and social care.
The way key workers have kept our society going through the COVID-19 pandemic has been a source of pride for everyone. We need to reward them and show that society places real value on these incredibly important jobs. We must end poverty wages in social care and ensure that everyone working in key worker jobs is properly and fairly paid.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The Government is not responsible for deciding how much social care workers are paid. This is a matter for individual employers.
