Support the installation of a statue in London dedicated to UK Women Veterans.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Women account for 10-12% for the Armed Forces Community. Yet, there are no gender specific statues that celebrate the contribution of modern day women veterans anywhere in London. Parliament should support the installation of a statue that recognises their service and sacrifice.
Women Veterans are a minority group in the UK Armed Forces. Bizarrely, there are no, post WW2 statue's representing the service sacrifice and contribution of women service personnel or veterans in London.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about individual historical monuments, statues, plaques and street names are a matter for the local authority in which they are located and private landowners, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you want to request the erection of a statue you should contact your local authority about this.
