Fund a full postal vote for the local elections due on 6th May 2021.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Government should fund a full postal vote, something that local government can not do at this time due to financial constraints. The pandemic is still rife in this country and further delays to elections is leaving communities unrepresented during this difficult time, and not be delayed further.
There are currently 296 vacancies for council seats across the country (http://opencouncildata.co.uk/), while Scotland restarted its by elections England and Wales did not, these vacancies and insecurity about further elections has left many Councillors overworked and exasperated during the pandemic, and some communities under-represented. We can not allow further delays to elections, however they need to be safe, secure and promote inclusion, a full postal vote will achieve this.
