Revoke the neonicotinoid insecticide authorisation and ban its future use
Rejected
13 signatures
What the petition asks
This authorisation is a knee-jerk reaction that doesn't see the bigger picture and might cause immense harm. Almost three quarters or our crops are pollinated by bees yet we have possibly lost a third of our bees in the last ten years. Neonicotinoids ultimately kill off bees and other pollinators.
The Govt is going back on its word on "maintaining environmental standards and international obligations from 1 January 2021." They claimed its 25 Year Environment Plan would see "the first generation to leave the natural environment in a better state than it inherited it."
