Learner drivers should be able to practise driving with members of household.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Review the legislation on the new rule regarding learner drivers not being able to practise driving with a member of their household due to corona virus.
For many young people learning to drive this is a brilliant time to practice. We have not much else to do and it gives us something to focus on and look forward to. It also allows us to keep up the work we have learnt with our instructors. Without confidence of when lockdown will end, this is very in nerving as we do not know how long this will last. It will slow down the process so much and there will be a large delay in practical tests and is going to take a lot longer for learners to pass.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition calling for the same action: Allow learner drivers to go out and drive with people from their household.

Under current Government guidance, you can practise driving with members of your household or support bubble. It must be travel for work, education or other essential journeys: https://www.gov.uk/driving-lessons-learning-to-drive/practising-with-family-or-friends
