Introduce a Fireworks Permission Scheme
Closed
31 signatures
What the petition asks
A fireworks permission system, run by councils, should be introduced. Individuals or groups wishing to set off fireworks should be required to agree a specific date/time for each display with their local authority.
Those setting off fireworks without this permission should be fined, with the amount able to be increased if the area has a high proportion of elderly/vulnerable people. These people, as well as children and animals, can be greatly distressed by unnecessary fireworks being set off. Fireworks also disrupt family routines and cause distractions for people working nearby who cannot concentrate on their job.
