What the petition asks
People living alone need to be able to have social contact with at least one other person for the sake of their mental health.
The number of people living on their own went up by 16% to 7.7 million between 1997 and 2017 says the ONS.
We already know the impact which the pandemic has had on many health conditions and the significant impact there has been on mental health.
We should not be prevented from exercising with a person from another household, which for many might be the only social contact they have.
