What the petition asks
Stop sex education in nursery and school. Our children should not have any more of there childhood's destroyed with having sex education forced on children as young as 4 years old .
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Early years settings and primary schools in England are not required to teach sex education, so it is not clear what action you want the UK Government to take.
Nurseries and other early years settings in England are required to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, which does not include any requirement regarding sex education. You can read the framework here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/596629/EYFS_STATUTORY_FRAMEWORK_2017.pdf
Further, while primary schools in England are required to teach relationships education, sex education is optional and parents have the right to withdraw their children from sex education lessons if their school offers them. You can read the Relationships and Sex Education curriculum here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/908013/Relationships_Education__Relationships_and_Sex_Education__RSE__and_Health_Education.pdf.
If you want parents to have the right to withdraw their children from relationships education, you could sign this petition: Give parents the right to withdraw their child from relationship study lessons.
