Hold a fully independent inquiry into the BBC's anti-Brexit bias

What the petition asks
We, the undersigned, are seriously concerned that the BBC has, throughout the entire Brexit process, shown a distinct anti-Brexit bias in its news coverage, panel, comedy and other shows on both TV and radio at both the local and national level.
We therefore demand that the Government order an immediate and fully independent inquiry, i.e. one that is not run by Ofcom, into this bias and, moreover, compel the BBC to be totally impartial in its output as is required under both its Royal Charter and its legally-binding agreement with the government.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.
Ensuring the BBC complies with its impartiality obligations under its Royal Charter, and provides fair coverage, on individual issues such as Brexit is a matter for the BBC itself, and for the communications regulator Ofcom.
You could start a petition calling for a public inquiry into BBC impartiality standards overall, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
