Extend entitlements to breaks to nursing mothers working under 6 hour shifts
Closed
49 signatures
What the petition asks
Workers have the right to one interrupted 20 minute rest break during a 6 or more hours shift. Many nursing mothers need regular breaks to snack or expel milk, and most mothers after maternity come back to working part time, which mean they may have no statutory right to a break.
The Government should amend employment law to extend statutory rights to a break to part-time nursing mothers, irrespective of the length of their shift.
