Define what constitutes a free school meal.

What the petition asks
Define a free school meal as a substantial and nutritious main meal.
It is important for a free school meal to be defined to upload standards of meals and ensure those children in need are in receipt of at least one substantial meal a day.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
The Government already publishes standards for school food in England. All meals provided in schools, as well as lunch parcels provided to pupils eligible for free school meals during the national lockdown, must meet these standards. See:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, if there are specific actions you would like the Government or Parliament to take.
