Free Internet for every household during the lockdown!

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

I think that it is absolutely imperative that the UK Government makes sure that people are able to mentain contact with friends and families during the lockdown. Since we must stay home, the only way to do this is through the social media channels. Therefore a internet connection is vital.
There are millions of people that are struggling with their bills during this unprecedented times. We hear everyday about the suicide rate rising and we wonder why. Domestic violence is higher then ever and child mental health is a big issue.
Please help people to stay in touch with family and friends by keeping them online.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The Government isn't responsible for the provision of internet access to households, but we have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Nationalise phone and internet communications and make free for the public good: Nationalise phone and internet communications and make free for the public good

Enact a national internet access act in to UK law: Enact a national internet access act in to UK law.
