Pay all student nurses and midwives as part of the new NMC emergency standards

What the petition asks
Pay the 2nd and 3rd year student nurses and midwives during this time under the new NMC emergency standards
All of the student nurses and midwives are all in the same position and working in these unprecedented times under immense stress and not being paid. The NMC just released a statement saying that only 3rd year student nurses are going to be paid for there services which is not fair on all the other students in the same situations and at risk.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.
Adapting the emergency education standards to allow second year nursing students to undertake extended paid clinical placements, rather than working on a supernumerary basis, would be a matter for the NMC.
