Provide further support for single parents across the UK

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

The Government should provide not only financial benefits, but emotional support for the parents who have been left to teach as well as raise their young children throughout this tough period of time.
This is important because the next generation are falling behind on school work as their parents struggle to keep up with everything put on their shoulders recently. They feel strains on their mental health as they feel they are letting down their families. Parliament should introduce measure to reduce stress.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you'd like to see more support for single parents, but we're sure what you'd like that support to be. In particular, we're not sure what you mean by "emotional support".

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking for the Government to fund counselling or special support groups for single parents, or to fund catch-up tutors and classes for children of single parents, if that's something that you'd like to see.
