What the petition asks
Allow driving instructors to follow the same criteria as driving examiners to pass their capable students to help with the backlog of tests that have been cancelled because of COVID-19 restrictions.
Many leaner drivers have been trying to get a test date throughout the pandemic and many learners who had previously booked their test in March 2020 are now waiting for a test date a year on. Learner drivers have been key workers throughout the pandemic and have been relying on limited public transport services or car sharing. Some learners have been continuing to do healthcare placements for the NHS also. As we don’t know how much longer the pandemic will affect tests we need a solution now.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
