Have an official mask exemption card that is issued via your GP.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Have a Mask Exemption card that is issued by a medical practitioner only.

That is logged to one person only via their NHS number.

This card would then be the only acceptable proof of medical exemption which would assist retailers and the police.
Retail staff are still being put at risk by members of the public who do not have a genuine reason to not wear a mask.

Exemption cards can be downloaded by anyone without any proof and this system has been very much abused and used as an excuse to abuse staff.

The police would also benefit from having a tighter system when incidents arise where people are not wearing masks, when they should be.
