Ban all advertising for on-line gambling during Covid-19 restrictions.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Ban advertising, publicising and promotion of all on-line gambling or betting websites and apps while Covid-19 restrictions are in place given it is known that stress is related to increased severity of problem gambling.
The Covid-19 pandemic and resulting restrictions are having a negative impact on health & wellbeing. Given there are known correlations between increased stress and increased problem gambling, a two-way link between gambling and depression and gambling addicts 3-4 times more likely to kill themselves than other addicts, stopping the promotion of gambling may mitigate against the risk and support those taking measures to control their gambling who may be vulnerable during this time.
