What the petition asks

Smart motorways endanger life, all hgv drivers know the dangers of a hgv travelling at speed and hitting a car or another hgv. Car drivers and other road users are now constantly in danger of been hit and killed with the lack of a hard shoulder.

The U.K. government should either ban smart motorways and bring back a hard shoulder for road users and other trucks to stop in case of a break down or emergency. On a fast moving motorway with all lanes live people are constantly at risk, people are been killed due to no safe place to stop.

Why it was rejected
