What the petition asks
There is an enormous waiting time for transgender people a lot of transgender people has to wait 3 years or more to get vital treatment. The government should offer free private health care for transgender people such as hormones, vital surgeries and other support until the NHS can offer them help.
Transgender people have to wait years for vital treatment in order to ensure they feel comfortable with their body through hormone replacement therapy. A lot of clinics from the NHS only takes in patients from 2017.
The government shouldn't let transgender people suffer from not being able to access the necessary medication. Which can lead to a higher risk of suicide, self-harm and other mental health issues.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government is not responsible for paying for private healthcare. We could accept a petition calling on the Government to increase funding for NHS transgender services, to increase capacity and reduce waiting times.
